Multi-Functional, Flexible Bioelectronic Fibers
The IO fiber is a multi-functional neural probe that enables a wide range of research capabilities in a small, flexible, integrated probe.
How The IO fiber Works
The IO fiber is fabricated through our patented manufacturing process, leveraging advances from the textile and telecommunications industries.
We fabricate our devices in a macroscale form and shrink them down to the microscale, allowing us to maximize functionalities in a minimal footprint.
Streamlining Research Solutions
Optogentic Stimulation & Fiber Photometry
The IO fiber integrates a polymer optical waveguide capable of light delivery and recording for optogenetics and fiber photometry experiments. This optical channel is connected to a standard optical ferrule for integration into any optogenetics or photometry setup.
Drug & Gene Delivery
The microfluidic channel allows for localized delivery of drugs or viral vectors, offering an integrated solution for viral transfection with optical techniques, probing drug effects, and more. The microfluidic inlet can be connected to an infusion pump via a luer-lock system or a precision fitting for minimal dead-volumes.
MRI Compatibility
If your research calls for MRI imaging, IO fiber with carbon electrodes is for you.
Made from polymer and non-magnetic materials, the IO Fiber is MRI compatible, allowing for imaging with minimal artifact.
Electric Stimulation & Electrophysiology
The IO fiber incorporates 6 tungsten or carbon microelectrodes for electrophysiology recording and electrical stimulation. We offer several connector options, such as ZIF-Clip(R) and Omnetics(R), to ensure seamless integration with the majority of existing electrophysiology rigs.
